About Greg Miles
I was born and raised in Beaumont, on the Gulf Coast of Texas, and I started drawing at an early age. My first painting in 1997 was no surprise—I had finally “discovered” my gift. Dissatisfied and fed up with the status quo, I quit my job as a chef to pursue happiness through art and music. That leap of faith changed everything.
I’ve learned that it’s important to live life right now—because tomorrow never comes. That philosophy runs through every brushstroke of my watercolor and mixed media paintings and every note of music I sing. My work is a reflection of emotion, movement, and a deep connection to the beauty of the world around me, especially here in Estes Park, Colorado, where I now live and create.
My artistic influences include the sublime, tortured soul of Brother Vincent, the masterful brushwork of John Singer Sargent, the decorative elegance of Gustav Klimt, the light-drenched impressions of Claude Monet, the movement of Edgar Degas, and the honesty of Robert Henri. I don’t, nor would I ever, compare myself to these genius masters—but their work pushes all of my hot buttons and reminds me to paint with passion, integrity, and joy.
When I’m not painting, I’m making music—my soulful voice has been described as warm, rich, and deeply emotional. Whether through music or paint, I aim to create work that resonates with people on a personal level.
I also love sharing what I’ve learned with others. Through my watercolor workshops, I encourage students to loosen up, embrace spontaneity, and find their own creative rhythm. Art, like life, is about the journey—not the rules.
Welcome to my world of color, texture, and sound. I’m glad you’re here.
